Homemade Electrolyte Drink

Some crazy stuff is going around right now- everyone seems to be sick, coughing, diarrhea, fever, and it’s lingering 😩

Here’s a recipe taught to me by one of my favorite herbalists: @she_is_of_the_woods to hydrate and replenish nutrients and minerals in your body!

To a 1/2 gallon mason jar add 1/4 cup raw honey and 1 tsp Celtic sea salt, add some warm (not hot) filtered water to dissolve. Then add 1/2 cup lime juice 1/4 cup cherry, stir, then add filtered water to the top.

Keep in refrigerator and drink throughout the day.

-Make sure you’re using a good quality salt like Redmonds or Celtic. Table salt does not contain the trace minerals our bodies need. For example- Sodium (not from processed or prepackaged foods) is a necessary mineral involved in muscle contractions, nerve impulses and regulating fluids in the body.

-feel free to switch up the fruit juices for other flavors. I love this cherry lime combination but use what you know you like. Make sure it’s pure though, I like the Lakewood brand. Cherry juice is high in potassium, antioxidants, can reduce inflammation, gives an immune boost, can help you sleep, etc.

-go for local raw honey so you get the most benefit. Raw honey is antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antiseptic.

This is not only a great recipe when you’re under the weather and are needing extra support, but drink this in the summer too. Perfect for the when you’ve been out in the heat for a long time, after a lake day or a hike!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
