Desert Globemallow Lip Balm
Desert Globemallow is also known as Yerba de la Negrita and is in the Malcaceae family. Other members of the Malvaceae family are mallow, marsh mallow, hibiscus, linden, cotton, etc. After I finished infusing the dried leaves and flowers into olive oil, it smelled soooo heavenly, flowery, and fruity.
Desert Globemallow was sustainably harvested, dried, and infused in organic olive oil, and solidified with shea butter and beeswax. Each lip balm holds 0.15 oz.
You can find Desert Globemallow in the dry plains and hills of Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas, frequently along roadsides and vacant lots. She loves disturbed soil. Other species can be white or crimson.
When the leaves of this plant are crushed or rubbed, they become mucilaginous. Which means that they have a viscous or gelatinous consistency. This is extremely beneficial for any skin inflammation or blisters. These small batch salves and lip balms are perfect for any situation where the skin is dry and hot, it’s extremely moisturizing and great for sunburn, eczema, or rash.
